A letter from December 9th, 2024

Time Travelled — about 1 year

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe,
I have a letter arriving soon. In two months on my 25th birthday. I read back on all of the letters I have written myself and aside from embarrassment at my lack of punctuation, I feel understood, but in a regretful kind of way. I like to live in a fantasy world while simultaneously being painfully aware of my reality. If these past two years of my life have had any trend at all it would be, lifting the rug. I have all of a sudden woken up and I can see all of the memories, unhealthy relationships and habits that I have tried to burry. Not only can I see but I want to act, I want change that will tear at my roots. The same roots I have clung onto for dear life, unaware they had died. As I have gone through this transformation, it has been most subtle. It is not until recently that I have been able to come full circle and find the meaning within the passed time. I have a feeling that when I open these two letters on my 25th birthday, there will be signs of fast approaching change. A subtle foreshadowing that would not have been noted without knowing the events of the future. All that to say the same thing I have said in every letter, you're growing. Despite the incessant weed use, your brain is expanding and you are learning knew things.
Finally, the long awaited timeline update. You live with David in a two bedroom apartment, Ranch at Ridgeview. Matthew and you are about to celebrate your 2 year anniversary. Annabella passed away Dec 6th and Presley passed away two days before thanksgiving, this year. Sammy passed away late summer. Max and Percy are both alive and well. You are supposed to move in with Matthew sometime in July. Going through the move logistics with David is stressing me out. Ryan and Annalie got a divorce. Corinne and Riley live together in a house in Rowlett that Riley and his mom own. They sometimes play disc golf with Matthew and I, it makes me very happy. Moms charter school is closing for next school year, she still lives in Garland in the same apartment. You work at TFI as an event coordinator and you currently work remotely but will probably work hybrid by the time you receive this letter. I would like to go back to school and get a college degree. My main focus at the the moment is getting rid of my debt and raising my credit score. I go to therapy every Tuesday, now every other Tuesday. It is late and I need sleep. You know the drill, you are beautiful, you are smart, you are strong. I love you very much.
