A letter from Nov 23, 2024

Dear FutureMe, Today, I have decided to finally move on in my life. I realized that I always said that I want to become the best version of myself. However, I always romanticized everything, making me seek someone to lean on—someone who will listen to how my day went, ask me how I am, and, as annoying as it may sound, I am the type of girl who feels like a princess. Like, waiting to be saved—and it is annoying, really. So, the reason why it is so hard for me to let go of Franciss is that he made me feel like he's the prince I have waited for and now that he's gone I felt lost. So cliché, but that's what really happened. Because of my realizations, I now understand that the love I always knew was immature and selfish. I suddenly have a different perspective on it. Suddenly, I realized, LOVE is not about thinking on what he will give you on your monthsary or what he will plan to do; it's about what you will give to him and how you will make him happy, for you to be happy. That kind of love is so expensive, selfless, and supreme. I realized that I am just 19, and that kind of love is not just for me. I want to grow, to become a successful and independent woman, and not just a girl who'll wait for a prince, or a queen waiting for a king. Today, I have come to my senses, future me. I may have realized this late, but I will surely not let us be disappointed. I will become a woman who won't depend on anyone's attention to make my day better. I will make my day better on my own. I will become a woman who will achieve whatever I want in life because I will give it my all. I will become a woman who is capable enough to live on my own. I am going to do that starting today. I will change my mindset, my perspective in life, and love. I move on from a girl who always waited to be saved by someone to a woman who will save herself from the misery that the universe gave. I will live, and I will survive. So be ready to sacrifice your time, your love, people, and the things in your life that you treasure. Brace yourself, because you will still continuously face challenges from this kind of mindset that I will pursue. You can do that! Grow and be happy on your own! I hope that while you're reading this, you have already achieved some things that I worked on. Live and continue to believe in your values. Be that someone that everyone will talk about because you're smart and independent. Let's do that! I will start by enhancing my comprehension skills and my English skills. Let's do this!
