A letter from Nov 21, 2024

Dear FutureMe, It's November of my senior year, so you'll be receiving this as a college freshman. I'm quite uncertain of where I want to go, even though I've already done roughly half of my applications. Wherever you are, private university, public university, community college, I hope you find a passion/niche within the data science field! Perhaps you'll even switch majors, but all is well as long as you follow the path that brings you joy. You're far from home (family, friends, cats 0-0), BUT you can always make more friends! Don't lean into timidity, make connections now! Enjoy the food, the nature, the people, and hopefully the academics! It would be nice if you could maintain some youthful tendencies (grinding games, binging dramas) while still focusing academically. Work hard, play hard. The future is like a voracious vortex, but the least you can do is continue forward confidently since time will push on whether or not you do. Good luck, may all your wishes (aka mine) come true!
