A letter from Oct 17, 2024

Time Travelled — over 1 year

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, You’re probably having lunch with Rachel, like you planned so please read this letter out to her. My dearest Rachel, I’m currently in Germany and missing you soooo much (along with my other friends, of course.) This year hasn’t been the same without you. When I’m in my classes I just keep thinking how much easier it would all be if you were here with me. I picked a random date to hang out because I saw a TikTok about it. I thought writing a letter would make it more special or something. TBH I didn’t even know it would be a Thursday, I didn’t check. I just picked a day that felt right, and this feels right. I’m also assuming it might be hard to find time for eachother, so I made these plans two years in advance. I think it’s important for us to make time for eachother and I always want you to be in my life, even if we’re not going to be talking 24/7 anymore. Maybe you’ve decided where you want to go to college, probably some smart people school like Harvard, but wherever you go I know it will put you exactly where you need to be. Now that I’m writing this, I realize it might have been more meaningful to give you a handwritten letter but I’m too far into this now. Thank you for being my first best friend (even if I wasn’t yours 😣) and thank you for sticking around this long. Pls stay longer though. Sincerely, Isla.
