Time Travelled — 12 months

Peaceful right?

Dear Elise, It’s been 2 years since you ended your relationship with the person you were about to commit the rest of your life to, which also marks 2 years since your life changed for the better. I’m writing this while I lay in bed, it’s 8pm and I’ve already decided to go to sleep because I’m so exhausted, and honestly I’m so happy about it. Regardless, I feel like it’s important for me to write this letter so you know how you felt back then, and I hope it also shows you how much you’ve probably grown in another year. Just to remind you of what you’ve achieved since that day: - You fought an absolute monster to separate from him and were able to start your new life - You were promoted to Change Lead - You travelled Europe in a way you never would have been able to before - You got a job at icare where you are well recognised for your work - You bought a **** BMW that suits your personality more than any car you’ve ever had - You’ve looked after the doggies in a way you never would have been allowed - You moved into a beautiful apartment in Woolooware and furnished it all by yourself - You got into a relationship with a wonderful but severely damaged man you taught you far more about your self worth - You bought your first ever designer items - You made wonderful new friendships in Allie, Tiarne, and Ange - You lost a friendship in Viviane that no longer served you - You started your Grad Certificate in Management to help fulfil your dreams of becoming a leader - You started going to therapy to shift your mindset and learn not only your self worth, but how to make sure you only give yourselves to those who deserve it - You welcomed your first niece, Elsie, who is an absolute ray of sunshine - You also witnessed your best friend Emily become a mother, and she’s ******* amazing at it - You got to see Ange meet the man of her dreams and prove that what you want isn’t too much to ask - You turned 30!! You learned more about yourself and your identity in the last 2 years than you have almost your entire life. I know you’ve achieved some great things, but I need to acknowledge that it wasn’t all smooth sailing. I know there were times that you wanted to give up. I know there were times where you wondered if living was even worth it. But every single time you have felt that way, you have always, ALWAYS come out on top. Do you know why that is? It’s because you’re destined for something wonderful. Something amazing. You are going to conquer the world, and both me and you know it. The last few weeks haven’t been easy for you. It’s almost like there’s an alarm clock in your body that goes haywire around this time of year, and honestly, I’m not quite sure how long it’s going to last. What I do know is that one day, this date won’t hold any significance to you. It hardly holds significance now, and if anything, it represents the time you got the opportunity to be redirected into your best life. You’re going to Elysia again next week, and I’m glad you booked it. I think it’s a great reminder of everything that’s happened, everything you’ve overcome, and everything you’re about to be. I know this time next year when you’re reading this, you will have achieved so many more wonderful things, and I can’t wait to reflect on them. I am so proud of you, you are exactly where you’re meant to be. Elise xx
