A letter from Sep 05, 2024

Dear FutureMe, I put off 'responding' to my last letter for almost a year. I can't quite say why. September 2023, when I got it, was a crazy time - I'd just found out I was pregnant. Sitting here now, Ferguson George Taylor Webby is napping in his bassinet, 3.5 months old. In the last letter I wrote about my writing, mortgages, fitness and work. Well... Writing is completely on hold. I feel I'm ready to get back to it and feel a sense of urgency as I have thought for a while that now, being in Mat leave, id the perfect time to get things moving. The fantasy is going back to work part time because I will work part time as a paid author. That's not going to happen if I don't get an agent or write Pull. We did get a mortgage but not for the house down the road in Haumoana. We live in Clive now, 11 Valerie St. It's been our home for 1.5 years and love it. Fergs room and ours have been rennovated and we've done bits and pieces in the lounge and garden. Next we hope to do the deck (finances allowing). I did leave Hereworth, only a few months after I planned to. I was there for 1.5 years total I think. I got the job as Advocate and love it. When I return though it will be with a new colleague as Kasey left a couple of months after me. I'll be reading this letter in around a years time. Fergus will be just over a year old and I'll be back at work! I can't picture how that will be. Being on Mat leave and having my sole job be 'parent' is so great, even on the tough days. I try to be optimistic because I really am starting to believe in manifesting, buy I can't see it happening getting paid to write in the next 6 months or so. Perhaps this letter will be the motivation I need. How is having a 1 year old? How are you feeling about the potential for baby number 2? Are you running? Ferg is grizzling and I need some lunch...
