Time Travelled — 12 months

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, You’re writing this along with your freshmen CSM101 class during welcome week. As you write this, you’re feeling peaceful and excited for the last year at Mines. I’m so grateful for this beautiful campus, for my amazing ministry family, and for every lesson God has taught me throughout the past 4 years. As I’ve recently finished undergrad, I’ve been thinking more about who I am and who I want to be. Dating Gabby has been fun, but has revealed many aspects of my character that I’m working on—most notably my time management and need to be more selfless rather than focusing on me and my image in this relationship. I feel grateful to have been more motivated in my faith lately as well. As we head into big rush week of sharing for ministry, I’m excited and grateful to be sharing the best part of my life with others, giving them a chance to taste and see how good and life changing a relationship with God is! I’m learning to be who I am. To see my flaws and make dedicated efforts to change, while letting God’s all-surpassing peace and joy and love catch me in my shortcomings. A lot could change in this next year between relationships, career, living situations. But just like I needed on the middle school basketball court, remember to smile through it all. I don’t think life is as intense as I tend to make it seem. God is good. Let that simple fact fuel every way I rest, work, grow, challenge myself, throughout the next years of my life. Remember to prioritize what really matters—loving God and His people whether I know them or not. Cameron, wherever you are at right now, whatever you are wrestling with, view it from a lens of Jesus. He wrestled as He needed to wrestle, worked as He needed to work, rested when He needed to rest, and loved through it all. Do the same, and let your Good Father lead the way.
