Dear FutureMe,
I’m listening to Blackbird. It’s the lullaby that comforts me most. It reminds me of the moment I am waiting to arrive; and I don’t mean to quote the song, but the lyrics summarize me.
“Take these broken wings and learn to fly… take these sunken eyes and learn to see…”
Not just my feelings nor experiences, me. You.
I dare not associate whatever this state is with living. I am in constant pain, but not pain in the common sense of the word - ineffable pain. The very absence of love is pain, the worst pain to exist. It is not a pain that exists in life, for living without love is not living at all - it is just existing.
Is the antonym of love not hate, but existing?
That’s what I must endure for the time being - the horrors of existing, so that you may live. Please live so that my existing will not be in vain. Live according to the logos, the laws of God that I fail to abide by, and remember your nature, do not forget the difference between common trends in society and Nature. Do not forget that no one can determine your character and that what ever happens to you is natural. Live well and practice the virtues you are able to. Remaining unmoved in these perilous times is child’s play. Practice the virtues you can and follow nature’s path alongside your natural path.
