A letter from May 15, 2024

Time Travelling — about 2 years

Peaceful right?

Dear Draven, I am writing this letter to you on Tuesday, May 14 of 2024. I just went to get us mochi ice cream and macarons from the Asian market for our water *** fight this Saturday.  You told me you've never had a water *** fight before, but I haven't either, and I can't wait to share the experience with you. Saturday hangouts with you are always fun :) I hope I've already learned all the songs I wanted to learn on your guitar. I have a playlist full of acoustic guitar songs. Most of them I want to learn for you, because I care and I see how much you do for me. You're the only one who made me feel like I wasn't different or weird in any way. You made me feel like I was a kid again. I never had any close friends throughout my childhood, and you fill that spot all these years later. Everyone treated me unfairly or pretended I didn't exist at times because I was just different. You're the exception. When I'm with you, I don't have to pretend that I'm someone I'm not. You and I just clicked like we had known eachother forever. I'm so glad I took that picture of you in 7th grade. Sure it was embarassing, but it led me to find the guy I call my soulmate. I am so thankful to call you my boyfriend. To me, you're more than my boyfriend; you're a shoulder I can cry on, a best friend, someone who listens to all the gross things I say, and someone who makes me laugh like I am a kid. Thank you for being you, Draven. You make me feel like I am 7 years old again. I'm glad we can be kids together, but by the time you read this we are no longer kids. By the time you read this, it's far from this. Very far from our water *** fight, but not close enough. You have probably graduated, or you are going to very soon. By the time you are reading this, it marks 1,269 days since we promised our hearts to each other. By the time you read this, I either have watched you walk across the stage or I'm about to. By the time you read this, we have most likely already gone to prom together. I decided to skip my senior prom and go with you my junior year (unless I do find a best friend that invites me to go with her, then I'm going to senior prom haha). I could not be prouder of how far you've come. I hope you plan to pursue what you are truly passionate for; maybe you will become the combat medic that your dad always wanted you to be. What I truly want for you is you to be happy. I hope you go for the job in the medical field that you said you always wanted to do. Your future is so important, and now is the time to choose. Do whatever is your passion; it's what you're going to do for the rest of your life. Do what gives you purpose, do what you'd do even if it was free of any income. Most people end up regretting what they majored in, or they switch their major halfway through and end up having to do MORE years. You've come a long way, and you have started a new chapter in your life. I am so proud of you. It's up to you to take your knowledge and do something great with it. I am not saying go dye your hair rainbow and join the circus because it's what calls you (even if it was your passion, I'm not letting you). I am saying do what would benefit you while also following what you desire. I only want what's best for you. You've made it to this point already. We have come this far, so I know that we can make it through anything. God works in strange ways, and He brings people together for a reason. Please do try your best from this point on. For God, your family, yourself, and me. I will always be here for you, and I will stay with you through anything, no matter the circumstance. If you haven't already, please watch and read The Perks of Being a Wallflower. You're supposed to watch and read it right before graduation. Keep on keeping on, and text me right after you've read all of this. I'll probably forget. You know how I am. Draven, you are my everything. You are my light in darkness and the one who keeps me motivated. Nobody can do what you do. Start this new chapter with a positive mindset and everything will fall in to place by itself. Believe in God and He will guide you. Don't take everything so serious, but take the serious things seriously. Live everyday like there is no tomorrow, and keep your head up. Make smart decisions and keep the real ones close. I will be by your side through it all.  1 Corinthians 13 "Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." With so much love, Deysia
