hi girly,
okay so i have this class, it's called compass II. i don't know how much you remember from sophomore year, but it's been mostly focused on career development and you've been really wrapped up in it. the current dream is big 4 (except pwc) audit in honolulu, but i have this weird feeling that nothing is gonna work out quite how you want it to. your gpa sucks right now and i doubt ey or kpmg (your faves) are really going to be all that impressed. for example, you'd think this class would be an a for you, but you messed up like one assignment and now you're going to end up with a b. it was an informational interview and you didn't plan ahead for it despite literally conducting those all the time outside of class. nice job. if that's not a metaphor i don't know what is. i really regret not working harder this year tbh, and i know i'm recruiting this fall, so if you're going into a career you're not psyched about rn, it's probably because of me...it's okay to be mad.
I really hope you're having a good time anyways though with not too many regrets. i know you regret things a lot, even if you technically get everything you want you'll still probably be a little sad on graduation day. i hope you know that even if you didn't end up joining the tea drinking club or getting onto the exec board at alpha phi omega, at least you were involved and tried at a few things a least.
i hope your career looks somewhat cool at least. did we get a winter 2026 internship anywhere? by some miracle, are we working for the two faves? i should really stop focusing on those things, most of all i hope we still know what's important to us. we better still like the outdoors and talking with our friends about literally nothing. i know deep down that all we want is to do good things with good people while having some stability. the big 4 audit thing is cool, it's just that sometimes wish that your dream wasn't literally everyone else's dream.
also, i have to ask, does the world still exist by the way? are we in another pandemic yet? if we're in like a zombie apocalypse hopefully someone at your refugee camp worked at ey and could put in a good word for me. i don't care if you live in a wasteland, remember, networking is everything. on the whole world ending note, you better still be an accountant, for some reason ai can't seem to replace us yet, and even if we didn't get to our dream firm in our dream city, it's still a solid career path. this is a great industry for people like you who are terrified of the world, so yeah. please tell me we still have that stability, and also that we still like accounting...i genuinely don't understand why people call it boring when it's actually kind of a vibe.
anyways, i won't keep you too long and waste more of your time. i hope you found the best white dress on the internet and are ready for msada. isn't it cool that you're getting a masters of science and char literally isn't? I'm never gonna let her live that one down. please just don't forget what's important to you, stay humble and don't get too caught up in everything. it's all gonna be just fine, one way or another.
love ya,
sophomore katherine suh
