As I'm writing, no one in our family has been seriously injured, but everyone except Manny, who cannot just pick up and go, has evacuated the North. Manny is in a bomb shelter. Of course the whole thing could just blow over, but I can't quite imagine how. And now that Hamas and Hezbollah have homelands where they can be protected by UN-defined borders, which of course are meaningless, a war can last a long time.
