A letter from Nov 24, 2023

Desirée, Happy 30th Birthday, my love. You made it to adulting level 3, and I’m so beyond proud of you. 🩵 You already know about all of the trials and hardships, worries and anxiety, general bullsh*t and lessons we’ve gone through. Today is not a day to reminisce that past, but to embrace an amazing and exciting new chapter. I’m so proud of your healing journey thus far. In each version of you, you’ve been able to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get right to it. Whatever “it” may have been. You will forever be my favourite superhero 🤩. You save yourself, you have always provided for and protected yourself, nurtured and most importantly: loved yourself. I’m currently watching “Inside the World’s Toughest Prisons”, chilling with ICE, and I’m content. I realized this morning that I may be a bit jaded when it comes to marriage and children. And given what we’ve been through, that’s fair. I hope you’ve since experienced happy people that have shown you kind love. And if you haven’t; it’s not your fault, nor is it a race. Everything you desire is already yours. One of the older versions of us can’t wait for you to meet her! I love how open you are to love. Your heart is so big, and beats so loudly and proudly. I love your strength and resilience. You can do any and everything, and don’t give up until it no longer aligns. I love your spirit of true kindness. Remember when you prayed and asked God to make you a woman of grace? He’s done it. You’re a wonderful person to know and love. I love your curious mind. You’re always learning, researching, and diving deeper into yourself and others. That’s a beautiful thing. I love you so much, you’re the perfect life partner. I’m so proud of you, to be you, to experience you. Today is such a special day. We’ve looked forward to this day for a long time, and I want you to be happy. At ease. Excited! Whatever else is going on doesn’t matter today. You’re a “good time girl”, and that’s what today will be!! Have a delicious brunch, get yourself dolled up and gorgeous, and enjoy your Dirrty Thirty. You’re so blessed. Continue to be a blessing to others, and always be kind to yourself. Your beauty radiates from within and that’s why you’re such a bad b*tch 😍😝.
