A letter from Sep 27, 2023

Dear Tupai, I hope you will still have this e-mail address so that this e-mail reaches you! Today we are sad. Apart from the usual sadness that we feel/have felt for around a decade, we are sad because our PhD is not going well. Not because we are not trying but because, unfortunately, our supervisor is actually just a bad supervisor/manager who lacks the ability to self-reflect. She wrote the following blog post https://academia.stackexchange.com/questions/202097/how-to-deal-with-a-phd-student-who-is-slow-and-disengaged and changed details to not make it obvious. But the Universe had different plans. We received this as a notification on our phone on a sunny afternoon on the 27th of September 2023. I don't know if you will have finished your PhD. I hope you did. But even if you didn't, I want you to know that you have always tried your best. And that you will make it in life. You will win in life. Gosh, you deserve the world and beyond. <3 I love you so much. You don't/didn't deserve any of the bad that has happened to you. But also know that a beautiful life awaits you. Hopes and prayers <3
