A letter from September 23rd, 2023

Dear C, As I’m navigating my first heartbreak, all I want to say is thank you. Thank you for sparking change, much needed change. I know you’re a great person. I know we both needed to protect our hearts, this was us obeying. God did what He had to do. Yes, it hurts, yes I wish it was different, yes I would have loved more time. But you came right when I needed. You set off a fire that I didn’t even know was there. I’m being sent to the unknown, to space. Space looks a lot like healing. I’m ready to explore it. Didn’t realize how you could consume so much so quickly. But I’m glad you did because the bar is not set high up. I wish could have told you thank you. Most of all, I’m proud of you D. You’re choosing to love. Choosing to be restored and heal. It’s been a long time coming and although it doesn’t seem like it, it’s perfect timing. Perfect timing regardless of the pain. Pray that I can get over you soon, C. It’s taking time, but I’ll be ok. Pray that you D, will see beyond this and choose to love the person you’ll spend the rest of your life with—you.
