A letter from Sep 13, 2023

Dear FutureMe, It's hard to think of anything to write to myself, whether it be to myself in the present, or far in the future, just because I don't know what to say. Quigly made us do this assignment, but I think its still good for me to talk to you and let you know what my thought process was at my age right now. There are many goals in life that in 3 years from today, I wish to accomplish. My entire life has been full of slacking and being lazy and not getting the job done, and while sometimes I might work towards a goal at some period of time, it has never been fully consistent, and that has led me to where I am today. I hope that very soon I will understand the meaning of "locking in" and working hard to make my dreams and goals a reality. I hope I am playing college baseball, or that baseball is somehow still related to my life. As difficult as it is to ignore the voices in our head that tell us to kick back and relax and quit and find something else to do, we both know that our love for baseball is truly deep down in our souls. I hope that IF we truly let go of baseball, then we are succeeding in something, I hope that we are studying a career that brings us success at a good school. i hope that we don't fall into things like drugs and things that would just bring us into a deep void that we will struggle or might never escape from. Think about our parents Ozzy. Think about everyone who told us that we are **** at what we are doing. That we are not good. Think of all the work we have put into the random things we have done in our lives. Don't lose focus. Stay consistent. Love our parents. TRUST ME. You should know it better than anyone how annoying our parents can be. But think about how annoying we have been to them. The things they have done for us. Keep in touch with them. Make them feel special. BE YOURSELF. Im still in the period where im truly finding myself and trying to be someone that I can be proud of, not giving a **** what anyone says about me. Connect with God. God has been with us through everything. God has gotten us out of VERY DANGEROUS situations and has given us miracles that have saved our life. Lock in. For me, and for the future you. -17 year old Ozzy.
