A letter from the past

Time Travelled — over 2 years

Peaceful right?

Hey there, future me. So... you've graduated, huh? Of course... I knew deep inside that you could do it. Actually no... that didn't come out right... Correction: that WE could do it. Today is August 21th, 2023 at 2:36pm. I am currently at Clemons Library. I've been feeling pretty homesick these past few days. So homesick, that I've considered giving up on college. Isn't that silly? Yeah, it's hilarious even. So funny that I cannot manage to laugh at it without lying to myself. But... why is that? Why can't I be satisfied with going back home? It's because I am at the University of Virginia. I am... at UVa. And I just know that I will have countless events that I will use to pursue my dreams. And here's the funny thing... I did achieve my goals. Yes, goals, as in the plural sense. See, if you are reading this, then I (1) was able to achieve my major of Japanese Language and Literature. (2) I was able to experience how it feels to be independent. And (3) I was able to have amazing experiences with my future friends that will be like no other. For example, I've already met 3 other like-minded people and my Japanese Language program instructor Kawai-sensei. They are amazing people. Again, even though I am frightened to my bones and literally on the edge of hurling... I know that these upcoming years will be nothing like I've ever seen. So let me say it again, congratulations. We've done it. We've gone through so much and have matured greatly. I wish you great luck with our future plans and send you tremendous love from the old me. The "Old" Lowe
