Dear FutureMe,
It will be 3 years since I have written this letter for my future-self. You turn 25 in a few weeks, and I hope things have changed for the better. Currently, this week was extremely tough on the mind. Anxiety of what is to come next has held me down for far too long. However, I have a feeling that you are the woman you wished to be when you were 21. You ARE what you needed all these years. I am beyond proud of the progress you have made. Things will most likely get more difficult, but you carry the lessons learned along the way on the path to glory.
Here are some things your 21 year old self would like to change:
- Talk with mom and dad more. REALLY appreciate them. For this is the only time on Earth we have with them.
- Realize that with strength comes vulnerability. These two come hand-in-hand, and hopefully you'll be wise to understand the duality.
- Do not be angry at the past, dissatisfied with the present, nor anxious for the future. I'm sure once you read this, the issues your 21 year old self experienced will seem miniscule.
If you haven't found the love of your life yet, no need to worry. There is so much love to be shared. Love does not have to be found in the outside world. It has been inside of you all this time.
Love,
21 year-old You
