Dear FutureMe,
How are you? I hope you’re okay. I mostly hope that in this moment you feel calm. That the world around you doesn’t feel too chaotic. That everyone is safe and well.
Right now you are having a weird time. You’ve just moved into your new flat. It’s been just over a week and despite it being a really lovely space, it’s also been quite chaotic and stressful. The fridge freezer didn’t fit and neither did the washing machine. The hot water didn’t work for a few days. The lock to the bathroom was broken. And just as you were leaving your last place, you nearly flooded it. It’s been a lot.
There have been some other things happening. Your throat is bad. It’s making it hard to enjoy eating which is probably partly adding to your anxiety and stress - your way of coping has been disrupted.
Ambra’s dad died a few days ago on her birthday. It’s not your loss or your grief but it’s had an impact.
Josh’s operation has been delayed because they couldn’t find a match and it’s kind of disrupted everything. And made you feel anxious about the timings of everything.
You are, of course, planning the wedding and it’s intense but fun. It also keeps taking a backseat to other things.
In terms of positive stuff (sorry for so much negativity), you went to see the Barbie movie and it was really good and moving. You have some great friends. You now have a garden.
Anyway, this is my current update. Past you is okay but just a bit burnt out. Hopefully by the time you get this you’ll have your adhd diagnosis.
Love you, H
