Dear Future Kelley,
I am your 16-year-old self, writing to you with hope that you are doing well. Yesterday, on August 5th, 2023, you went through a difficult time as you broke up with your first ever boyfriend. I know how hard it was for you, but I wonder how you are coping now. Have you managed to get into college? What courses and majors did you decide to pursue? Are you living independently?
I am also curious about the well-being of our family. There are so many questions I want to ask, but above all, I sincerely hope you are in a better place than you were before. The year 2023 has been truly remarkable, full of knowledge and unpredictability, as you've been trying to find your path and discover your true identity.
Do you remember Daniel? He was the one who taught you not to settle for anything less than you deserve. I wonder how he's doing now. Did he manage to get into the school he talked about? I hope he has matured and become a changed man.
And what about Kayla? Are you still friends, keeping in touch with each other? She was one of the truest friends you made in Brazil, and her presence had a profound impact on shaping the person you are today. I am grateful that you had the chance to meet such a wonderful person like her. I hope you've managed to maintain your friendship with her.
Wrajja, our childhood best friend, how is she? I know that you're still in contact with her, as she has always been an inseparable part of your life. She's like a sister to you, the missing piece of your puzzle. I truly hope she is doing well too, and that you have had the chance to meet each other again. I miss her so much.
I also realized that you've been always alone all your life, is there someone now who gives you the company you needed?
Throughout your life, you have been independent and strong, handling challenges on your own. Always remember that both Jesus and your past self have been supporting you throughout the years. I believe that one day, you will meet someone who will provide the love and companionship that you truly deserve. However, for now, focus on your main goals and have faith in God. Cherish life, love yourself more, and be grateful for all that you have.
To future Kelley, I sincerely hope this letter reaches you. I want you to realize how much you've accomplished and that you deserve an inspiring letter like how you inspired me to write this letter for you. May God bless you and your family abundantly.
With love and hope,
Your 16-year-old self.
