I used to want a big life, I wanted to explore every corner of the world and not miss an inch, I wanted a loud life, with lots of friends, and lots of nights spent out past 2am. I wanted to sing up on stages with people coming to see me preform.
But I think my perspective shifted, if I just have a life, a quiet simple life with lots of Jesus and my closest friends and family surrounding me, I’ll be perfectly fine. I now understand that I just want bonfires with guitars and singing, I want prayers with my closest friends and family surrounding me just as immersed in Christ Jesus, I want to eat barefoot in my back yard on a hot summer night with my loved ones and to really laugh and to really feel the grass beneath my feet, I want to read books and quietly tuck my loved ones into bed. I want lots of sunshine and lots of rain and I want to plant flowers and fruits and share them with everyone I love. If my life just consists of loving people with great magnitude and all I’m remembered by is the time I held my friend when she was in despair, or sat quietly listening and praying with someone who’s mourning, then I’m okay with that. I don’t need anyone to know my name, I just want a life that’s good, and simple. I hope you have found someone who enjoys this quiet life with you, I hope you go on dates often with your lover , and that he treats you with so much tenderness and admiration, I hope God is omnipresent in your lives and that you both worship the Lord with all your mind, your heart and your soul. I hope we never lose our sense of wonder. I hope we travel well, and love our body. I , I hope that we are surrounded by the love of all of our closest people.
Never let sorrow or the uncertainty of tomorrow bring you down, hold steadfast in the Lord, hold your head up high. And take it a step at a time. I am proud of the future us. We have been through a lot, and we have prevailed through it all. Never be too hard on yourself. You’ve done the best you could under the circumstances. I wonder what our career is now, do you still work at adora or have we moved up. Are we working remote and traveling the world? Do we have kids now and a full on husband? Wherever we are… I’m proud of us. Tonight do something for yourself. Go on a drive and blast music, go down to the beach and run in fully clothed. Take a day off and read a book on a hammock in the forest. Do something fun today. I love you. We deserve all the sunshine. All the light.
