dear anabel..
hi. this is a little spontaneous and i hope this letter finds you in good health. as you write this you are 16 years old, enjoying your year 11 summer before you start sixth-form. you live at home, and currently have a boyfriend, sylvester.
when you read this you will be turning 19. and i want you to assess how far you've come, and how much you've managed to achieve, so..
question time!
did you succeed in terms of your a-levels? were you able to decide what you wanted to do and then go to university? did you get good grades? work hard? how's university going?
at this moment in time, you are looking to take bio/chem/geog/french a-levels but you're not sure what to study at uni. you wanted to be a forensic scientist but now you aren't so sure. you really enjoy french but also wish you could pursue a career as an author. there's time to decide, but i'm interested to find out where you end up.
what i'm really interested in is whether we get to meet our boyfriend (future husband). sylvester de jong and i have known each other for around 100 days now. in that short time we knew we wanted a future together, and i can only hope that you get to be with him. he is truly perfect.
so..? did he come to england when he turned 18? did you meet? when did it happen? how did it happen? excuses my manners but.. girl.. are you still a virgin? have you been to the netherlands? met each others family? moved in? been on dates? shared your first kiss? done everything you talked about?
i'm sure this will ruin your birthday if the two of you don't make it this far, but just know that he was incredibly special. at least when we were lovesick teenagers. i hope you don't lose him. i love him. but anyway..
what else? you recently visited great aunty dorothy. how is she? how's uncle martin? i fear you will have lost them by now, but that's okay. as long as you promise not to be too sad. they wouldn't want you to be sad. i hope nanny julie and nanny linda are also doing well.
are mum and dad even together still? how's a***? did he get any taller? i hope you still speak to them, i hope nothing went wrong in three years.
do you even have friends? you finished secondary school in a group of 7 girls (you, vongai, maansi, maya, pav, ananya and tegan) but i hope you managed to make a few more friends in sixth-form. maybe they're friends with you now too. maybe you met new people at uni. i have no clue. maybe you learned how to make friends;)
3 years doesn't feel like much but i know that it is. you'll definitely forget about this. i hope you don't change your email..
okay bit random but do you still read plenty of books? do you play roblox? maybe you feel like you're too old for that now. i hope you eventually made an effort to progress with your novels. they weren't much but that'd make me happy.
imagine you get ran over by a car and never get to read this- sorry, but you're stupid enough to do that.
i don't want this to drag on forever so i think i'll end it here. i hope all of your dreams come true. just be yourself please, don't change for anyone. have some confidence. get out in the world. i love you, take care. byebye:)
