A letter from Jul 26, 2023

Time Travelled — almost 3 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, I sent a letter before this, but honestly I can't remember when exactly. I do remember the period I was in, the struggles I was going through in my religious identity and being unable to fully accept faith. I remember that time in my life where I felt inadequate to be a Christian and live life true to myself. That time I had a friend that, though he was incredibly fun to hang out with, looking back I have realised that he was the origin of a lot of my stress and nervousness. I trusted him, and he would break that trust several times by spreading personal troubles and gossip about me. At that time, I felt isolated often. I write to you now to remind you of how I now am. I recently baptised, and I hope you have stuck in your faith. I want to remind you on why I got baptised. I did it as I felt it was the correct next thing to do in my faith. I did it so that I could have a chance to be closer to God. I didn't do it to prove anything to anyone. Don't let this leap of faith be that. I did not baptise because my parents wanted. I've met this wonderful guy, and we've been dating for nearly a year. I hope you're still with him in your time, but if not, I understand that God wants the best for me. Being with my boyfriend has matured me and helped me become a much more refelctive in life, and I hope you continued this. If you're still with him, please give your love to him. You are his only love as he is to you. If you're not, I'm sorry. Just use that time we had to protect yourself, whether from other people or you. I hope you're not drinking or doing anything I wouldn't do. If you are, please know that I am dissapointed. I've come to also remind you that I am not that much friends anymore with that dishonest friend from before. I hope you have cut ties with him by now. I haven't but I'm on the process of eventually drifting away completely, so he doesn't sabotage me (I know him well enough that he would do that). If he sabotaged you anyway, at least the fact that you don't talk to him helps. In this stage of life I am at, it's a bit worrying on how I'll get by in my social circles. After all, I've made some good friends that care for me as I do to them. I hope you're doing well in your forensic studies. At least, that's what I'm applying for, and if this plan has changed, then I know that I am happy. From, PastMe
