A letter from Jul 18, 2023

Dear Future Me, I have A lot of things I want to say . Firstly I hope you are well. secondly , Dad and mum have been forcing me to marry some guy in Somalia and to bring him to the UK. I still cannot believe my mum , my only support system was TRYING to persuade me to agree. THANK ALLAH I DIDNT AGREE BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE ENDED UP LIKE THOSE STORIES I SEE ON TWITTER AND YOUTUBE. I legit didn't have anybody i could turn to . I laid bare all the anger and animosity i had towards him . I told him he had been in hiding all those years and was he showing up now . I told him that did he suddenly remember how to be a dad when its convenient . He was never there when I needed him . Never showed for me or supported me in anything . I use to think that there was something wrong me . IF i just had the best grades maybe he'll see me or maybe if had a better job he would want to talk to me . He even gave my brother a load of money and told him not to tell about it . he use to take my brother to his house and buy him gifts . He never took the time to see or hear me . I was just there . He would call me sometimes when my brother was not picking up his calls . My grandmother was our stand in dad, she helped raise me and brother . She helped my mum out when my dad divorced my mum and ran away with the sister in law (tele novelle style) . He never once paid child support and my mum never pressed him too much about it . AND now after my grandmother has died , he decide to waddle up and say he is my father and he has a say in my life and that he will curse me if I disagreed with him . I am so proud of myself that I didn't give in and agree . I KNOW FOR SURE THAT ALL MY DREAMS WILL COME TRUE AND I WILL BREAK ALL GENERATIONAL CURSES INSHALLAH
