A letter from Jul 10, 2023

Dear FutureMe, Hello, Basille. It’s you 17 years old self. Happy Birthday. It’s your day; it’s your 18th birthday specifically. What do you feel right now? How does it feel that you made it up until here? For the last 5 years, all you did was think of a way to get rid of yourself, but here you are celebrating your legality. You were now finally at the age you wanted so badly last year because you couldn’t find a job because we were just 17 years old. I hope you find a job that fits you, makes you love it, and makes you comfortable with it. Right now, you’re still undecided about the course you should take. Whatever you choose and whenever you stick between a bachelor's degree in psychology or political science, you will always have my unconditional support. A year ago you thought of being a psychologist since this time of the year society starts to become open-minded about people’s mental health, and right now you’re thinking about taking political science since ever since we were in high school, being a lawyer or prosecutor is your dream professional because you want to give those people the justice and rights that they deserve. We’ve been through a lot; we already took on responsibilities that were really not ours, and we know that there are more challenges awaiting us and for you. Your past self will always be proud of you for living for now 18 years, even though there are days when you wish that you would stop waking up anymore. You’re so strong and brave; you've always been. You got this, you will. It’s currently July 11, 2023, at 4 in the morning. You’re in your depressive season again.
