A letter from Jul 10, 2023

Dear FutureMe, Hi Eli, this is you back when you were sixteen. I planned on sending this to you right when you're about to start your college. So hi love, Are we okay? Are we still happy? Are we taking the pre-med course we've always wanted? Are we thriving? Are we doing our best? I hope you are, cause right at this very moment, Me, I'm doing my best and I hope to God that you are too. Are we still with Mathew? Being sixteen, young and in love was hard but I hope that we got through it. I hope that we slipped through the cracks. I hope that we beat the odds. If not then I suspect that you still haven't gotten over him. That like what I said to myself back then, we won't love unless it's him again. I love him so much, Eli and if ever you two are still together by then, I hope that the love you both share never changes. How are things with your friends? Do you have a lot of them? Or you kept it small once again? Either way, I'm very proud you!! You've come this farrr!!! And if you recieve this then it means you're alivee!! HSHWHAHHSS. It means you held on. It means you tried your best to hold on. It means you tried, Eli, and I love you for that. How are things with your fam? Even if right now, things with mum and dad are kinda ******, I hope that you resolved things with them already because after all, they're still your parents. If not then I hope you will soon!! I don't know when you will recieve this, maybe by the end of Grade 12 or Summer Break, or right before you start College, but there's things I want to ask. Are you Happy? Are you Okay? Are we still writing poetry? Are we still looking for the beauty in the chaos? Are we still clinging to the hope of it all? Are we still in love? Do you still know how to love? But above all, Do you love yourself? Do you love the version of yourself that you've become? I hope you do. god, I hope you do. I love you, Eli. I hope you're doing okay. All will be alright in time, am I right? And keep looking for the beauty in the chaose if you aren't already!! Goodluck, Eli!! YOU ARE LOVED!!
