Dear Future Me,
Do you remember that girl Célestine who you hung out with that one time back in March? Or was it February? Regardless, way back in 2006, she sent you a link to this website where you wrote this email that you are now reading. Perhaps you even remember writing it. Perhaps you remember how barren your walls were in preparation for the great move out of Middlebrook. Perhaps you remember telling Christopher, your boyfriend at the time, that you were going to take a shower and then call him back, when really you ended up writing this email which took longer than expected. You had just visited your friend Richard in search of some different piano music, a task you had tried to tackle in the Music Library the day beforehand but only found some unsatisfying Bach. Maybe you should have asked Bryan Berry about some other recommended composers. You've led a long life, Rebecca, and it's only getting shorter. Each day brings you closer to the day it all ends, so what are you doing with your time? What have you done since you wrote this email to yourself? Please reflect back on at least three nice things that have happened today. If you can not come up with anything, you have become the bitter, angry person you despise. If you are that bitter, angry person, it is surely time to change. Life is too short to waste it being upset and tired. Naps are to be taken appreciatively, but not gluttonously. Be generous with kind words and actions. It all comes back around to you someday. You really should be taking a shower now instead of typing here, so that is what you will do. Carry on with your life.
