A letter from Jun 12, 2023

Time Travelled — 12 months

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, I hope I sent this at a good time. I hope you are doing well and everything is okay with you. I know around this time last year you received a letter from me from 2022 and I bet SO MUCH has changed since then; reading that letter to and from myself was really nice because it had definitely help me reflect on how far I’ve come. Currently, we are on a dating app (Hinge); it has been a cool time AND you had Snapchat again for a month or two. We did have Tinder which is where Ethan and Phone River Cowboy comes from, I wonder if you remember them. Tinder was definitely more for hoes and a lot less satiating in the long run; it was definitely only a short-term fun that fizzled out pretty fast. We also tried Bumble but it wasn’t as cool, we really only had it for one day. Hinge is by far the best! I’ve had 3 dates; Graham, Brandon 1 and Brandon 2. They all didn’t really amount to anything but it was pretty cool to experience what it is like to put yourself out there and I hope you are coming out of your shell in terms of dating because all of the guys you went on a date with felt like a hang out instead of a date. It’s crazy to believe that WE were on dating apps because never in a million years would I have thought we would’ve been apart of that dating app culture. You do need to be more assertive in your flirting and open up more! I want you to reflect about everything that has happened since writing this letter and all of the dates you’ve had with new people and if you’ve found yourself a boyyyffrrieeenndd 🤭. I don’t think that would have happened because it seems like that’s not the path the Lord has for you right now. We have recently been asking the Lord to burn the bridges that don’t need to be crossed in our life and to take out anybody who has any malicious intent in our life. Nobody was right for you THEN and maybe not even in the future, that’s not at the top of our priority list either but in any case, I hope you are truly happy and do find someone who can love you unconditionally like you will do to them. I know it is hard to find somebody who can deal with you AND satiate you, mentally and physically. I don’t really know if you would have popped your cherry at this point; it could be either or so… Also, we are currently driving dad’s 2500 and I hope that hasn’t changed because you want to go into the construction field and its definitely fitting so 🤷🏻‍♀️ I also want to know what path you took in terms of your career because right now, you don’t know if you want to fully transfer into Winthrop for a number of reasons; the price, the schedule you’ll have next year and just everything about it doesn’t seem as appealing anymore- you’ve already had your college experience and I am not sure if you want to go back into another year, even though your one year was not lived to the fullest extent. Your current thoughts is to go into Forsyth Tech and get the associates in Interior Design while trying to make an entrance into the field through internships and working under Avery’s. Also, you are still talking to Leah everyday, Emma not so much; she is currently in a vicious cycle with Isaiah and that’s not something you really want to keep up with. You are also talking to Kiley roughly everyday and y’all are pretty good buddies. How’s your current relationship with Kelly? What about D7? And Tram? Right now, I am super close with Kelly and I think it’s because the presence of boys has risen in your life and that seems to be when we get closer to her again. D7 is an interesting case, she got with a Marine man in December and on our Edisto Island trip, that’d when we stopped talking so I wonder if I you’re back to the way you are with her because our relationship is still being built up again. With Tram, our relationship is definitely not what it used to be because we definitely have a lot more space from each other. I hope you think about these relationships while reading this. That year away at school really did do you some good because you can call out a lot more ******** than you previously did; not only that, but you are so much happier, mature and overall did a lot of growth. Looking back at it now, there was so much you worked on, including getting your health back into order because you ended up going back to the gym while away and was able to keep a consistent schedule so being away did do you some good. I applaud you for all of the hardships that you had went through because nobody else seemed to recognize how hard it really was on you. They only made you stronger and I hope you continue to grow because the Lord has a plan for you and all of this is only preparing you for that. I hope you can say you’ve done more growing and make your parents proud; as much as they’ll never admit it, you are always going to make them proud as long as you keep following your passion. They may be hard on you but you have to understand that they only want what’s best for you and I hope in the hard times, you can understand that. I am only wishing you happiness, prosperity and love in your future and I really hope you’re doing well! We know that we are both destined for greatness and I hope while reading this, you know that you are one step closer to your dream! Not only that, but I hope you continue to enjoy your youth; do all the things you are scared to do, travel to where you’ve always wanted to travel, go on that spontaneous date and live your life to the fullest! Also, if you believe you deserve it, the universe will serve it. Bye Honey! Only wishing you the best as we continue on our journey in life! P.S. don’t forget to write a new letter to ourselves.
