A letter from May 21, 2023

Dear Future Lydia, I guess your in high school now, or I’m in high school now well I wrote this letter three years ago you were in 7th grade your best friend is Whitney Richards and Ava Emmons your other best friend is your dog Hazel you created a YouTube channel and we have just under 300 subs I know pretty sad lol do you even still do YouTube? If so how many subs do you have now? I wonder if mom ever let us get Snapchat, we’re almost 16 and really close to getting our drivers license! How is high school treating us do we even have friends? Do we have a boy friend? Eh, probably not dad would probably not allow that haha! I guess I have lots of questions for us did we make varsity field hockey? Are we even still playing? How is softball going? Any more homers? How’s hockey you know that three years ago you won the state championships with all of your friends Addie Langan and Julia Quagliaroli, Zach Foss, Caleb Harrington, Gage Rouix and coach Brendon did we ever win again? How’s the fam? Hazel must be getting so big well not bigger but older she will be five! How’s Nini and papa? And of course all of our cousins! Woah Ellie’s six! Seems like just yesterday Julie had us playing that game with the bags to tell us she was pregnant! And Devins twenty one crazy! Holy crap do things change in three years time! You are probably reading this thinking that we were so young I mean I’m not even a real teenager yet well in less than a month I will be thankfully you know what’s even crazier your in 2026, 2026! That just looks weird to type maybe it’s not for us in the future but it is now! But I guess the real question is are you friends with Piper and Dalila because deep deep down I was hoping that with 8th grade coming and then high school we might be able to work it out but maybe and please don’t cry over them anymore please I know, we know how that feels and you are so much better than that.
