A letter from May 19, 2023

Time Travelled — almost 3 years

Peaceful right?

Dear Future Gina, As I write this letter, I am filled with a mixture of emotions—gratitude, curiosity, and a sense of farewell. I want to take a moment to express my appreciation for the experiences and lessons that have shaped me into who I am today. At the same time, I beg you, please do not remember the 14-year-old girl I once was. Let her remain in the past, as a distant memory. First and foremost, I want to express my profound gratitude for the journey you have embarked upon. I know that life has taken you on a path filled with its own unique challenges and triumphs. Through the ups and downs, I hope you have grown into a person you can be proud of. Cherish the experiences that have shaped you, for they have been the stepping stones towards personal growth. I am curious about the life you are living now. Have you accomplished the things you dreamed of? Have you pursued your passions and found fulfillment in your endeavors? Remember to take a moment to appreciate the progress you have made, no matter how small. Life is a series of ongoing discoveries, and I trust that you have embraced each opportunity with open arms. As I bid farewell to the 17-year-old version of myself, I want you to know that you are truly loved. The past version of me, with all her insecurities and dreams, loves and accepts you wholeheartedly. You carry within you the resilience and strength that she nurtured, and she believes in your ability to overcome whatever challenges come your way. But please, I implore you, do not dwell on the girl I once was. Let her be a whisper in the winds of time, a distant echo of the past. Embrace the person you have become, the wisdom you have gained, and the infinite potential that lies within you. As you continue your journey, remember to be kind to yourself. Celebrate your victories, learn from your mistakes, and always strive for personal growth. Surround yourself with people who lift you up and inspire you to be the best version of yourself. Finally, I want to thank you for carrying the memories of our shared experiences. They have shaped you, just as they have shaped me. Hold them close, for they are a testament to your resilience and the person you have become. Farewell, dear future Gina. May your path be filled with joy, fulfillment, and continued growth. Embrace each moment with open arms, and know that you are loved and cherished. With heartfelt gratitude, Your 14-year-old self
