Dear FutureMe,
Hey Pia. It's you, Pia! I saw a TikTok about a girl who received a letter from her 13-year-old self and thought that I should give this a try.
I'm 14 right now, and I'm about to finish the 9th grade. It's my last week. My freshman year was probably one of the worst years of school I had ever experienced. My grades absolutely dropped and for the past few months I've been struggling to find the motivation to get up for school.
But one good thing that came out of it was a friend I made, Maraya. She's everything I wish to be; friendly, social, and assertive. I'm grateful to have befriended someone like her. Also, another good thing about my first year of high school is that I joined a sport! I joined my school's tennis team because Jhed told me to try out. I love love love tennis. I love it so much that I'm sad to leave for the Philippines this coming August because I'd be leaving my team.
Let me stop talking about me and let's start talking about you. I hope you got to go to the Philippines. And if you stayed there for a year I hope there was a Tennis team over there!!
I know I don't feel this way about myself now, but I want you to know that you don't need to lose any weight. You're perfect just the way you are. You are beautiful and amazing. And you're so strong for everything that you've been through.
I wonder, do you still want to be a dermatologist? You'd have to go through 12 years of schooling just for that š£ seems kinda long. But then again, it would be worth it because I'm genuinely interested in skin health and also I'd be getting that bag.
Once I start working, the first paycheck I get I'll give to my mom. She told me once that I don't care about her because I miss so many days of school and can't even do the laundry. So I'll give her some money for being such a burden. I still don't forgive her for saying that.
This is my first digital letter to my future self. I've written several on paper, but none that would automatically send to me on a specified date.
Also please keep using the email I assigned this letter to. Or I literally did this for nothing. Can't wait to read this in three years!!
From, Pia.
