A letter from May 13, 2023

Dear future me, This is probably one of the worst times to write for this assignment given AP week just ended (among all the other ****** things) and I'm very much still brain dead, but it's graded so it's a must. Holy ****. You're 22 (or supposed to be if these ever get sent out at this point). How does it feel? Are you okay? Friends? Family? Lovers? I really hope you are. Let me know if we’ve made it this far (because right now it's not looking too good). How’s college going so far? Are the classes hard? Do you still live with your parents? Figure out what you want to do in your life (I hope so because I think you're running out of time)? I hope you’ve made friends, it's intended to be a new start so i'm hoping it went well :)) I simultaneously want to get the hell out of highschool but also have that nostalgic stomach twist when i realize i'm never going to have this routine and system thats all ive known for the past 18 years. I really hope you're happier now. Are you finally living for yourself? Are they still dictators? I hope not. I want you to get some freedom and live a little for your own sanity, even if it's just for a little bit. Have you redacted your room at all? I feel like you should since we’ve literally changed nothing since 3rd grade (do you still hate change?). Grow into your skin a bit, you're running out of time. I hope you've fallen in love with yourself again, because I very much have not (remember the period of very bad notes app notes? That's right now lol. It’d be funny if it was still sitting in your phone). I hope you are in a better place (mentally at least, lord know what the heck you look like now with the rebellion phase in mind). If not, it's alright. Give yourself a little more time to grow. How are the friends(my caffeine fiend, rv stan, etymology queen, trex, sleep deprived berry)? I hope everyone is alive and well, considering they're currently very not. Give them a little text back if you haven't seen them in a while, show a little love. Finally, how is love going? I hope there's enough to go around. Currently (given this is right after prom), hes really really kind. I hope you’ve shown him how to be loved, maybe not in the romantic sense (how did it end out?), but I hope he knows how much he means to me. And the infamous flannel boi. How many times over have you fallen for him since? If you haven't, it's probably best to say i love you, even though it pains you that he’s never going to see you in those eyes. Much love to you, all the people, all the lovers, all the friends. I hope that they all get their happy end :)) Froppy <3
