π Daily Bible Study Using S.O.A.P. Method
π¬ Scripture
Write the actual verse or passage of scripture. What words, phrases, or other parts of the passage stood out to you?
And he was praying there. Simon and his companions went searching for him.
"Everyone's looking for you!"
And he said to them "This is why I have come."
"Be made clean."
π Observation
How do you interpret what God is saying in the scripture?
The twelve disciplines expected the Messiah to be a warrior who will slay the enemies and rescue them from slavery and the suffering the Romans have put them through but what they don't seem to understand was that Jesus came to forgive all our sins. He died for all of us. Not the righteous, the priests, or the pharisee. He came to spread the good news and the message of salvation. Jesus wanted a change of heart. For people to accept him as a Saviour because our sins have become worse and worse over the years. That God could no longer look into our faces for what we have become. Jesus wanted us. He loved the sinner and hated the sin. He hugged the lonely ones. He welcomed the rejected ones just like Matthew. He accepted a troublemaker like Simon. He forgave someone like Mary Magdalena who felt hopeless. He can say be made clean and your skin disease will disappear. Wow. He can tell us tonight to be made clean of our sins and we are washed as white. Clothed in white. That's how great his love is and will ever be for those who will accept and confess him as his Saviour.
πͺπ» Application
In what ways can you apply this scripture to your life?
By praying more. By talking to Jesus like a friend, by confessing my sins, and letting God take over my life. It is no longer my worry to be anxious about things because I know JESUS has my back. By being a bold follower of Christ and at the same time humble. By allowing the Lord to change my heart and mind. By accepting that I am saved by his grace. By going to a quiet place to dwell in the presence of the Lord.
ππ» Prayer
Write a prayer asking God to help you apply the scripture in your life.
Dear Jesus,
Forgive me for my sins. Allow me to accept you as my Saviour. No more double lives. Only you are on my mind, heart, and soul. To be a prayerful child of God like you. In the morning going to seek Jesus. In the evening going to thank Jesus. Allow me to feel your presence. Amen.
