A letter from Apr 20, 2023

Dear FutureMe, This letter will be a lot easier, mental health-wise, to write than the last one. One year ago today, I got my first ever rejection. It came from a girl who I could have sworn was meant to be. It took several more months to realize that not only were we not at all meant to be together, but that she was a total psycho. THAT is how you dodge a bullet. Through that terrible experience, though, you made two of the greatest friends imaginable. In fact, tomorrow they take care of you after you have your wisdom teeth removed. I know for sure you didn't think that would happen when you wrote the letter before this one. I won't lie, you've definitely still been looking for a girl to be more into again, and a couple have seemed like they would be good ones to try for, but something happened each time, including them also being psycho and them being taken. While that's the case, you still haven't fallen nearly as much into a straight up depression like you were in last year. As much as the first psycho girl may have messed you up, you do have to admit that she is the reason you became a lot stronger. Even more, you learned to respect yourself more. You didn't change your own standards because you may have felt lonely. If anything, you upped some standards after the stuff that went down a year ago. When this letter gets delivered, you will have 4 less teeth than when you wrote it, and at this moment, that's the biggest change you seem to have coming. I'm definitely guessing other things will happen, unexpectedly, but after how this past year has gone, I'm ready for it. Also, major life events that have happened in the past year, grandpa passed away. It was rough. While you may not have felt that traditional grief, it hit you with a ton of stress, and I doubt you will ever forget breaking down in the parking lot after the one hockey game, when everything just seemed to come at you at once. The nice thing? That seemed to be the turning point. You got back up and started moving again. Grades went back up, and you're finally looking at being able to change majors. I hope that when you write your next letter, it talks about how great accounting is going. Alright, this is starting to lose structure, so I'll cut it here so it doesn't turn into rambling.
