A letter from Apr 19, 2023

Hello Briar, (April 18th, 2023) When you get this, you’ll be 16 (I think). I’m honestly praying you're still friends with THE group. You know, Mars, Matilda, Ella, Jemma and Pietro. No one else really matters. I’d like to know them, sure, but those 5 are my top people right now. I truly hope it stays that way, I don’t really know what you're doing if that’s not the group anymore. You’re probably gonna look at this and call me a loser, because that’s what I’d do. But on a more important note, I’m listening to Taylor Swift right now and I expect you went to her tour because if you didn’t, I just know you’re still heartbroken how many years later, which is so valid. Sorry to get serious all of the sudden, but I expect that you're still doing well in school. I don’t care how hard it gets, you better be giving your all in every single one of your classes. I also hope you're happy, at least. If life’s tough right now, I get it, you know that. I just want you to be yourself. Be fun, be expressive, and don’t let people simmer you down and make you boring. I’m so anxious to be in highschool without Charlie, to be honest. Grade 9 she’s there, but I feel like I’ll be lost without her with me. Never tell her I said that, of course, because if she knows I have emotions she’ll gag, because she’s my sister. But oh well, I hope you know your way around the halls by now. Sorry for changing topics, but I have a lot to ask, so I’m just going to rapid-fire some questions on you. Did you go blonde? Are pink and purple still your favourite colours? How’d grade 8 graduation go? Did you end up taking that street art & skateboarding class? I’m so interested in that but it’s an 11 only class. Seriously, though, I hope you’re okay. Probably because you're me. But whatever, I hope you're having a good time. Maybe you can drive now, that’d be cool. I’ll see in 3 years.
