Dear FutureMe,
you have to give up on overthinking, I hope you got better at it. Because how are you going to live the best version of yourself when your brain and your heart aren't cooperating at all? My heart wants a lot of things, it has many desires, yes some of them are silly some of them may not be good for me, but some of them are needs some of them bring me joy and peace. If my brain is always against those ideas and desires without even listening fully to my heart why it wants that special thing, it's never going to work. There will never be a harmony between my brain and my heart. My head is full of ,What if...?' questions. What if they think... What if they don't like... What if things go the wrong way... What if...? Isn't life a bit too short to overthink every step you take? Aren't we just simple humans that are dying at the end? Many of the people that are in your life right now, won't matter in 5, 10, 15 years. They will be gone. They won't even remember you, you won't remember them anymore too. They are just side characters of your life at this very specific moment. Do you know what will never ever change? You being the main character of your own life. Because it's your life, only yours. Don't judge your ideas, your moves, your dreams, your body through other people's perspective. Don't let your ,What if...?' thoughts win and rule over you. You deserve to follow your desires, to make your dreams come true, to be your own leader. And again to the endless battle between your brain and your heart- you have to try to understand that your brains also just protecting you, that it's scared like a newborn who's exploring the outside world, to dig into the unknown. You have to train your brain to get out of your comfort zone, to make little but effective steps into quitting overthinking. Even if sometimes your ,What if...?' questions come true, even if you loose something or someone- it doesn't mean that you are going to give up on trying again. This will even make you stronger, wiser and more confident at the end of the day. At the very end you will look back on all these memories and days, without remembering many of your failed attempts. You have to be someone you wanted to be as a kid and someone who will make your very old grandma-self proud. Here's the very inspiring bridge of the Taylor Swift song ,You're on your own kid'- because your 16 year old-self is currently a Swiftie :D
Everything you loose is a step you take
So make the friendship bracelets
Take the moment and taste it!!!
You've got no reason to be afraid
You're on your own kid, yeah, you can face this !!:)
