A letter from Mar 27, 2023

Dear Future Abiyo, Hey! Hope everything is going well. I’m in 8th grade right so you should be high when you read this. 6th grade was hard for us and we both know that. But now, 8th grade, it's been amazing. We’re writing a book and went to the Writers Writing Workshop. Which was very fun. I hope we’re still friends with Sweet Pea because she’s very nice. Anyways we started track this year, doing 200m speeds. We even got on the B team in basketball. We get a lot better than in 7th grade since we had a kind bad kinda good year, if I’m going to be honest. But let’s stop talking about middle school. I can’t wait to be in high school. I hope it’s fun. I know it’s going to be hard at the start but I hope it gets better. I know it will. 8th grade had been a hard year emotionally. When everything. So I hope that it gets better. I hope we get better. I think we cried more this year than any other year. But enough with the sad stuff. I think we became a better person this year. Being a little shy and more helpful. And I think we upgrade in how we dress and look now. We’re so beautiful now. (not saying that we weren’t before but let’s be real) And we truly love ourselves now. Some goals I’d like to say are that we should not be so hard on ourselves. Take a break sometimes but don’t be lazy. I hope we published our first book by the time you read this letter. We should also have a job. I hope we have our dream aesthetic by this time. And a new phone, iphone 11 is starting to crash. I hope we get a full ride scholarship to BU or Brown or a new college we found and liked. To be a pathologist. Maybe that changed. I hope we traveled and went to the World Cup or got tickets to go with Qamar. Also the friends we made this year, in 8th grade I hope we’re still friends with them but it’s ok if we aren't. My last goal is that we are more confident now than were in 8th grade and our hair is long and healthier now. I hope high school is going well, we got this. Love, 8th grade Abiyo
