Dear FutureMe,
The current person writing her future self quite likes her current self and the path she's on.
Current Self, you've been growing into a kinder and more intentional and discerning person. You are more lovingly aware each day. But amazingly, an idea of future self feels uncertain. Cloudy. Almost unthought of!! ***** feels certain but the future is not guaranteed!
But what if Current Self began to live as if there was a real Future Me? Started today, at 3:40am?
So, Future Me. Did you live like a future was possible? Is it still possible?
Have you stayed true to Spirit?
Have you stayed true to your creative passion?
Have you pursued your goals with clarity? Steadfastness? Interconnectedness?
Are you a good oncle?
Are you a parent?!?!
Have you been as honest as you could be?
Are you more financially responsible than current me (one would hope!)?
Where the hell are you???
Do you have an abundance of love in your life, still? Have you stayed true to the true loves you've encountered? Or have these become memories? (If so, take a moment to reflect on how ******* lucky you were to have so. much. love.)
Are you a good friend?
Have you built a life instead of floated through?
Have you stayed fit?
How are the wrinkles around your eyes? Do you love them? (Current Self thinks you should.)
Current Self writing this wants to love Future Me so badly, and wants Future Me to love and respect past me. Current me is so grateful for the possibility of a Future Me. Current Me needs to stay fiercely devoted, to the impossible future. Future Me, remember that your self in the past was so grateful for every day, every footstep, and isn't going to take this chance for granted, is never alone in the world. I hope you stayed true. Stayed worthy of your Mother and her belief in you. I hope you stayed silly, and find the humor in whatever you are doing right this minute when you get this letter. I hope you staying ******* crazy loving. If you've forgotten yourself - let this be your reminder. You got this. I love you.
Love,
Your Past Self
