Dear FutureMe,
So you're gonna be graduating soon! Or you might have already graduated. How have you changed? Right now you're interested in starting a business and learning about business management...you've just decided that medicine isn't for you and you want to change your focus. You were interested in welding and mechanics for a while, but you dropped the idea of taking Ag. Mech and Metal Tech once you saw the students in the class. They were all tall, fat, and buff people, and if you joined they'd probably think you were placed in the wrong class.
Right now you're currently obsessed with songs like "Nonsense" and "Feather" by Sabrina Carpenter, your crush, and podcasts. You love going to the senior citizens village for runs and bike ride because it's so quiet and peaceful there. You just came back from the best trip of your life to Florida. Recount it:
I just came back from this amazing trip to Florida. Man, I love Florida. The first day, my family and I drove to Dallas. We had just gone to Dallas a couple of weeks ago and we passed the exact same spots. It was so cool. I took some nice snapchat pictures of myself in the car because I just looked good. My mom had blow-dried my hair and it was curled perfectly.
We went to this sky club at the airport and it was literally suspended in the air above the airport. I had the most amazing soup and brownies. Then we went to the boarding area in front of our gate. I turned on my favorite podcast and ironically she was talking about an experience at the airport. I looked out the window at the planes as I listened. I listened to some other podcasts as we boarded the plane and then I had to turn it off.
There was this really tall cute kid sitting in front of me (sorry I'm going crazy). He reminded me of my crushes. Then I exited the plane and then got our rental car to drive to Tampa.
I fell asleep in the car. My mom said she passed Florida Polytechnic University ( I mentioned to her that I wanted to go there someday). So that was really cool.
Once we got to the hotel, I didn't care about anything. Not my makeup or my clothes. I just crashed in the bed and had sweet dreams about the kid on my school bus. I slept and slept. Me and my brother got up and watched Transformers. The next day, we got ready to go to NASA. I was so excited.
I love the song "Nasa" by Ariana Grande and I've been to NASA before in Houston. I also love the movie about NASA called Hidden Figures that we watched on the last day of 8th grade (a much better time for me). So I just like NASA related things.
We went to NASA and I learned SO MUCH about space travel and explored so many cool things. I also got this really cool NASA shirt at the gift shop. That was a nice day. Later I wore that shirt to Disney Springs as we ate dinner in front of a hot air balloon. At the end of the day, we went to our hotel room and guess who was there! Maasi and Avni! (my aunt and cousin). Avni was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!
The next day, we went to the first main part of our trip...Disney World. We went on a bunch of really cool rides. A lot of them were space-themed and I even got to use a flight simulator. Then, I went to Arendelle with Avni and waited outside while she got in line to go on her Frozen ride. We met this lady from a rural town in Texas and had a nice conversation with her. I also bought some sweets from a Scandinavian sweet shop in Arendelle.
Honestly, Arendelle reminds me of a village from a game I love to play...King's Quest. It reminds me a lot of Daventry and I felt like I was there in real time. That was a cool feeling. Later we came home and had chipotle. Then I fell asleep to my podcast.
The next day, we visited the Animal Kingdom. We went on some really cool CGI rides. I hate bugs but my family took me to this terrifying bug show. The bugs were angry at us humans so they sprayed the audience with bug spray and hit us with a flyswatter. Ew. Suddenly the enormous roller coasters didn't look that bad. There was also a huge section of Animal Kingdom that was India-themed. That was really cool and it was definitely VERY realistic.
My aunt forced me to go to the mount Everest roller coaster. I was so scared. The journey to it was really interesting though. We went through a Nepal-themed Hindu temple setting, and got to ring the bells hanging from the roof. We went through a mockup of base camp and that was really cool. The ride was terrifying and thrilling. I guess the 2-hour long wait was worth the ride and interesting journey.
We came home to our hotel and watched Uncharted (everything we did unintentionally fit so well with the theme of our activities that day) starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg or whatever his name is. I fell asleep to my podcast again.
The third day was the bomb. In the morning me and my brother watched Transformers again (he's obsessed with the show). We visited Universal while my aunt and cousin went to the Magic Kingdom section of Disney. First we did the Jimmy Fallon ride and then the Transformers ride (to my brother's delight). The setting of the Transformers ride was SOOO cool and we saw Megatron and Optimus fighting in real time.
After that, we decided to go to some shows. We went to one comedy show and we saw a show about Jason Bourne. Honestly the shows were 100000000x better than the rides. But this wasn't the best part.
My mom wanted to explore this one alley so we followed her. Guess what that was??? It was the INVISIBLE PILLAR THAT LEAD TO DIAGON ALLEY! I just found Harry Potter world! I used to be the ultimate Harry Potter fan. We saw a tale of Beedle the Bard show and got some butterbeer. Oh my god the butterbeer tasted better than I had imagined while I was reading about it. Diagon Alley looked exactly how I imagined it.
The day ended with a parade. I got a bunch of necklaces. Then we went home and met my aunt. I wasn't happy though. I had just found out that something terrible happened to an old classmate of mine who was in my math class last year.
It was so upsetting. We decided to watch Instant Family, starring Matt Wahlberg (or was it Mark?) again. I fell asleep to some ASMR.
This was the last day of the trip where the fun was about to come to an end. We woke up late and went to Disney Springs to eat some awful fast food. It tasted terrible and the food was gross. At least the lemonade was nice. We took some pictures and drove to the airport to drop off my aunt and cousin. My cousin was kind of annoying me with all of her chatting in the car but when they left I suddenly missed her so much and wished I hadn't gotten annoyed.
We went to my dad's friends house to spend the night. There was a young girl in about 4th grade and we chatted and talked about ROBLOX. I felt like a little girl again. I wish I was. I told her about how much I hated high school. I went to sleep in her room by myself but couldn't sleep because the baby was making so much noise haha. My mom woke me up at 3am and we drove to the airport. I was tired and sleep deprived from weeks of school and exams and on top of that a week of traveling.
We got to the airport and boarded the plane. A part of me was wishing we could've replayed the whole trip again starting from when I first boarded the plane to Florida. I listened to Sabrina Carpenter's new music on the plane. I really loved the song "Feather" and it definitely gave me airport vibes and was perfect to listen to at that moment. The song "things I wish you said" just reminded me of my crush. "Lonesome" captured my feelings about having no friends.
We got off the plane and onto a bus back to our car. We drove home and stopped at an Indian restaurant in Dallas. We drove back to our city and to the house our dog was staying in. He was so happy to see us. Finally, the whole family drove home. Tired and drained.
We reached home and I took a long, hot, shower. I was so refreshed and happy. Then I spent hours draining myself on my phone and getting anxious because someone unfollowed me (I think this phone thing is becoming a problem) and ruined the whole vibe. I decided to write in my planner and journal a bit to soothe my mind. I went to the store and got some free samples of chocolate. At night, my family watched Hidden Figures, to my delight.
How have you changed lately? If you want to remember this time in vivid detail, listen to these songs:
Nonsense (Sabrina Carpenter) - This song resonated with you so much because it reminds you of your crush. You met them on the first day of 7th grade and you were immediately in love when you saw them answering math problems so fast...even faster than the teacher. They threw a tennis ball at you twice during "silent ball" and you still remember catching it. Ever since then you've been in love. The lyrics "cartwheels in my stomach when you walk in" and "lookin at you got me thinkin nonsense" remind you about when your 8th grade math teacher moved you next to them in math for the whole year.
Mona Lisa (Sabrina Carpenter) - This beautiful but simple song resonates with you so much...each and every lyric reminds you of your crush. "both of my eyes they've been fixing on you", "come n say hi, I've been dying to meet ya", "don't leave me hangin like the mona lisa" (but they did leave you hanging because you look like Pinocchio...sorry just being honest....hopefully you go to the gym now and wear good makeup and outfits and have figured out a way to tame your hair)
10:35 (Tate McCrae) - You just love dark racy pop music, and you love that this song makes you feel like you're driving in a fast car. You loved listening to it every morning on the bus at exactly 10:35 am. Instead of feeling like you were on a smelly school bus, you were immediately transported to a hot red Ferrari, racing across the road, as your hair blew in the wind and your heart thumped. You love the lyric, "I don't know when it started goin, but I know that you and me got something"
Feather (Sabrina Carpenter) - It's such a soothing song. It gives breezy afternoon nap vibes or airport vibes. You love it because it reminds you of your toxic friendships and how good it felt when you stopped being friends with them and trying to impress them. You love the lyrics, "I feel so much lighter like a feather with you out my mind". Hopefully you don't have toxic friends anymore.
SHoT iN THe DaRK (RudyWade) - This song has an amazing beat and music. You listened to it on the bus the first day of your second semester of high school, when you swore you were going to turn everything around. You did. You had As in every subject for the longest time and you were on a roll. I wish you would've kept it up. Hopefully you're making good grades now and have finally started working hard. The lyric, "I wish I knew from the start that I was gonna make it" is so relevant now. Did you go for your shot in the dark? Did you make it? Should I have known that?
Anyways. I think it's time to wrap up. This is something new I've been doing and I've already written like 3 letters to the future. Maybe I'll do this more often...like every week...however I don't know if my free plan will allow for that.
