Dear FutureMe, ive just worked my first week at hartmans kosher butcher shop. Just my luck they were just changeing everything over for passover, i had no idea glatt kosher rules were so complicated! its kind of funny, not only am i the only one working there who doesnt speak hebrew, i'm not even jewish. im surprised they were allowed to hire me. still the moneys nothing to sneeze at $10/hr for getting people steaks and roasts form behind the counter. Its not the best wages but most counter help in this city pulls in minnimum wage. The only downside is i have a rash on my hands from handeling the salted meat and my right wrist is killing me because i pulled it the first day :-(
This week i worked 48.5 hours, $485 a week is nothing to sneeze at for a chick with a crewcut, fresh out of high school.
