A letter from Feb 15, 2023

Dear FutureMe, Hey how's it going? I assume we've just finished school and have gotten our leaving cert results back! I wonder where we'll be off to college! I hope you have a clearer idea than I do! Who are we friends with now? I'm after going through a rough patch with certain people I thought I knew and to be honest I don't know who my real friends are right now, but I hope you do. Anyway going off to college you'll make new friends, and I assume our plan of getting the hell out of ******** nowhere is still going ahead:) I'm so funny. How are mam and dad, is dad still working in the job he hates? I hope my college isn't putting too much of a financial strain on everything. Is he still coaching or has he stopped for his own sake ! How's the looovvveee life ! I'm just after getting my bangs cut and mam is after saying "So how are you going to deal with all this new attention" as in male attention. Don't know if that's gonna happen but I say you know ! Anyway I have to go now how groovy of me! Toodles, 16 year old R.
