A letter from Feb 12, 2023

Dear Future Me, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on an incident that happened on 12-02-2023. On that morning, I observed a small cow from my bedroom window. The cow had stumbled and fallen down, with one of its legs trapped in the neck rope of its halter. The incident occurred at approximately 1 AM. At first, I felt scared about going outside to help the animal, but I realized there was no other option. The mother cow and the calf did not seem to be aware of the situation, so I took action. I retrieved two bananas from under my television and used them to distract the cow while I cut the neck rope and freed the trapped leg. Looking back, I am proud of my bravery and quick thinking in that moment. I hope that you, my future self, continue to be mindful and compassionate, even in unexpected or challenging situations.
