A letter from Jan 16, 2023

Time Travelled — almost 3 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Hey! I’m honestly not really sure what to say to you. I’ve been scrolling through Pinterest looking for prompts, but not much is popping up.. I’m sure it’ll come to me as I write. I guess I’ll start with the now? The date is January 16th, 2023. God, I can’t believe it’s 2023 already?? It feels so weird to say that. I’m also 15 now, which is also weird to think about. I’ll start driving soon! I’m kind of nervous about that, but I’ll have to learn at some point, I guess. Freshman year has been okay; I don’t really talk to many of the other freshmen, so my classes are a little lonely, but I have a great friend group filled with sophomores! I’m sure you’re still friends with all of them. Hannah and Mel and all the others must have graduated already though, right? I hope you’ve found the time to visit them. How was your last marching season? I hope it was fun and memorable! Justine is living in Korea right now. They’re thinking about moving sometime after her sophomore year, and I’m really hoping they go with Colorado, since it’s the closest option. Mrs. Miko had a miscarriage the other day as well. I know it’s been hard on all of them. Justine was really hoping for a brother. I can’t even begin to imagine what Mr. And Mrs. Chan must be going through, though. How about you?? How have you been? Are you dating anyone? I really hope we get to have at least one HS relationship, even if it doesn’t last that long. I always say how childish and immature it is to be in a relationship as a teenager, but I think I’m just jealous haha. I’m also jealous of Maddi Cease. She’s absolutely gorgeous. She said hi to me the other day and complimented my voice, which was so out of the blue, but whatever. Happy birthday by the way! We’re eighteennnnn 💕 I love you and I hope that the last three years of your life were good ones. I guess I’ll be finding out, living in the past and all. You should write another letter when you get this one! Maybe for when you graduate med school??? Assuming that’s still the plan. Sincerely, - Emma 💜
