A letter from Dec 23, 2022

Dear FutureMe, Almost a week since 2022 Qatar World Cup ended and I’m having this realization that this is my last World Cup as a ‘child/teen’ (I’m 19 rn) like I’ve been following the World Cup since 2010 (waka waka ayy) and the fact I’ve gotten to exist in the same timeline as all these players, at their greatest and lows, makes me not only happy but also super nostalgic. There’s just a lot of symbolism and emotions growing up with the World Cup. I’ll be 23 in 2026, probs graduated from nursing or if circumstances don’t allow, still studying- the point is I’ll be a full fledged adult by then and it’s super scary to think about it. Just tell me how life is at that point ok?
