Dear FutureMe,
If you're reading this that means, it's 2025. Today's date is November 26, 2022. You're a single mom, slowly healing but hopefully further along in your healing process now.
Here's a few things currently happening right now:
-You're 20, your sister (as of Thanksgiving/her birthday) is 22
- You're not happy but you aren't sad
- Your son makes you happy
-In a few months you have to go take a useless paternity test, you and the dad both know he's the biological parent but you both also know why he's making you go through this. He doesn't want to be involved. So ever since your son was born you've been doing it on your own.
-I'm proud of you
-You want to write a book...did we ever do it?
-You wanted to create a short film....did we ever do it?
-You want to become a travelling stay at home mom....did it happen?
Even though you don't know what to currently do in your life... we're trying. Right now, we're almost exactly where we wanted to be when we were younger. This is the second time you've sent yourself this letter. The other was from when you were in middle school. Find it. Read it. Keep it.
We may not be there entirely yet, but we'll get there soon. You're an amazing mom and your son shows you that every day. He wakes up and smiles at you and is just happy to see you. Write back when you get this, it'll be interesting to see what we have accomplished in the next 3 years.
