A letter from Nov 21, 2022

Time Travelled — almost 3 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, So, you're finally 32 years old! Remember in 2006 when you asked yourself and your school friends how they imagined themselves in 20 years. And that time has finally come! This is a letter written by 29-year-old you. Do you remember how crazy 2022 was? You got the job you were wishing for! You started that year on a long-term relationship, and despite all the problems you thought you and him would move in together later that year and soon would get married and have kids. But that also wasn’t to be. Just two months after that, you met someone who made you feel head over heels. Now he is your boyfriend, you feel loved and happy, you feel that he’s your future, but you try not to create many expectations after all you’ve been together for only a few months. Was he really your future? Only you, future me, can tell. I know you’re scared of having your heart broken again, but I feel that with this guy things will be different. I hope you’re genuinely happy. I wish that you’re exactly where you wanted to be. You deserve to have reached the very expected 32 being a successful professional, to have a comfortable financial life and being surrounded by people you love. Your biggest dream has always been to become a mother. Has it come true or are you still waiting for it? I can’t help wondering where you will be working. You love your current job, but you would like to work for a big company in the future. I can’t tell what happened, but I hope you’re getting paid a good salary! How many places have you travelled to? Who have been your closest friends on these years? How is your family doing? Remember to always be grateful and thank God for everything you have. “I am who I am today because of the choices I made yesterday.”
