A letter from Oct 28, 2022

Time Travelled — almost 3 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, I am writing this letter(For future you)to inform you of the goals I hope to achieve in a few years' time. I think that by achieving these goals I can better my future and help out some of my family along the way. My first savings goal that’s achievable in the least amount of time is saving for a pair of Doc Martens. My old pair of Doc Martens were amazingly durable and lasted for 3 years until I, unfortunately, spilled red paint on them. I want to reach my goal of buying these shoes because it is a nice gift to myself and they are very useful in everyday activities such as gallivanting in a forest or dancing in a theatre production. Some concerns I have with meeting this goal are that I may want to save the money for more important things other than a 250$ shoe. One of the other main goals that I have that I consider most important is saving to pay my parents the cost of my stay in the hospital in 2021. This goal is important for me to reach because I would not be where I am today if I didn’t have my parent's unconditional love and support and I want to show them that I am so grateful for everything they have done for me. My concerns with reaching this goal are that I won’t put enough money toward saving for this and will end up spending it on other things that can be achieved in a shorter amount of time. To try and avoid these concerns, I will prioritize my savings account attempt to save approximately 12$ or more each day to end up with 30,000$ in the next 7 years. I also think having a limit on my monthly spending will help me further save to achieve my future goal(s). Even though the money aspect of my goal(s) is important, it is also really important to remember that how you use money can impact you and other people around you. Dad, Mom, and Sam would(and will) be so appreciative to see that after everything I haven’t forgotten their indescribable support and want to give back to them. I hope in 7 years or less we can achieve these goals and be more appreciative of how saving small amounts like 12$ a day can lead to bigger goals. #Savemoney Sincerely, Future you(ZoeAnne McCurren the 1st)
