Time Travelled — almost 4 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Today is October 15th, 2022, 3 days after your 16th birthday. It really wasn't what I imagined it would be. When you read this, it will be your 20th birthday! Congratulations! We're not feeling too great right now. Mom and dad are getting divorced for the 5th time and home is just full of tension because of it. Your girlfriend, Nynke, she's still in that terrible home. School is stressing us out too, seeing we have our exams this year but still don't have motivation to work. Overall, things aren't that good. That's why I'm writing to you now. I want to ask you some questions, starting with: Did things get better? Did we graduate Havo and Vwo on our first try like we planned? Are we studying psychology, or did we settle for a job instead? Do we still work at Kruidvat? Are we still dating Nynke? Are we still friends with Fay, Sanne, Liana and Zyre? Did we finally let go of Joysie? Do we still dye our hair? (And if so, is it still purple?) Did we manage to write a complete book? Do we still live at home? Are all of our grandparents still alive? (Go visit them!) Did we go to Japan? Are we still into anime? Do we still play Genshin Impact? (If so, do we still main Xiao?) How is Kodi doing? Did you get the tattoo? Did you lose the weight, or did you learn to love yourself as you are? and lastly, do we still cosplay? I hope we managed to achieve a life that we truly enjoy. I want you to know Future Me, that no matter if you lived up to who we wanted to be or not, that you should never forget that happiness is the most important thing. You probably look amazing, and I hope you are doing what you love. Sincerely, your 16-year-old self from 2022
