Hey future self, 25 years old Hisham,
By now you should be graduated from college and started your own career path, which is a new long journey. Yeah, I know that fresh starts contain a lot of happiness but it leaves some sadness in your heart, as you’d lose a lot friends, you’d have some fear of the unknown future, and you’d yearn for the old good days, when you didn’t have that much of responsibility. I have experienced that when I left high school into college, but believe me the best is yet to come, and as Toto have always said “Keep Pushing”.
Now, I’m doing pretty good. I’m studying electrical engineering with a GPA of around 3.7, which I consider a good one. Now I’m developing an interest in motorsports especially F1. This season I’ve watched all the races and I’m cheering for Mercedes, you know I’m Mercedes guy, in top of that watching “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” and being part of a formula student racing team added a lot of knowledge to me which makes watching the races 100 times more interesting. Oof, the technology used in these cars is mind blowing. By the way, this formula student project is driving me crazy, we don’t have the enough resources to build such a car in the scheduled timeline. If I made it to Silverstone next year, you should be proud of yourself.
Moreover, I just started reading and learning about different brands and watch manufacturers. I don’t know, maybe if I developed this curiosity into a passion and I got a good amount of money, I’ll start my small collection. If you aren’t interested in the watches now, just get yourself the NOMOS GLASHUTTE – Metro date power reserve. Writing this paragraph made me feel materialistic, you better not be man. Yeah, I do believe that materials are a beautiful thing, like who don’t, but I do also believe that focusing on the materials only would **** your soul. The most valuable piece any human could own is his personality. Remember that analogy of the fine piece of steak, which represent the personality, and the added herbs and spices, which represents the materials.
Yesterday, I just applied for an internship in technology leading company based in Netherlands. I hope they’ll take me as an intern. I believe that a huge part of the knowledge will be gained during the internship. Which make, I think, the internships the first step of the person’s career. I’m taking this step as a very important one. I’ve always been an outstanding student; I fear to have an average internship which won’t have any added value to my career. Again, if you made it to ASML, be proud of yourself.
I believe in Islam, and I try to keep it as halal as possible. Beside that, I believe that old school is the right thing in a lot of my life aspects like dress code, sports, socially and even romantically. I got another rule which I always follow, which is be kind to everyone. In high school I was always in a good term with everyone, also in college I have friends from different backgrounds and faiths and I never had any kind of beef with anyone.
I’ll set some goals, more like a bucket list, and you tell me weather I did it or not, cool? To start with and most importantly is to have a noticeable development on the emotional side of your life, cause bruv its horrible here lol, in addition I want to visit Monaco and Italy, I want to attend a F1 race, hopefully Monaco GP, and to develop an artistic hobby. Actually, to achieve these goals I got to have a successful career, which I’d like to start by the internship I mentioned before. If you did them all, then you are awesome and now you got the right to discuss having a baby.
Things I should have stopped are arguing with my younger brothers over minor things, I really hate it and I’m actually working on it, and all the haram stuff I do, like smoking. I should have started to spend more time with the family, especially my dad I got to learn a lot of things from him. I got 3 pieces of advice for you. One, keep it hundred percent halal. Two, any friend you got, even if you enjoy his company, if he got a bad influence on you, have the balls to cut him loose, the sooner the better. Three, you won’t be able to please everyone, do what you see is the right thing and don’t mind others talking **** about you, because they’ll always do.
Now it is your turn to tell me. Out of 10, how good is your relation with your parents? Did you find your soul-mate? I won’t ask you about your career, it’s your passion, I know you enjoy it, don’t you? Hang out routine? Actually, I’m wondering what do you do for living, lol? Side hustle, no?
