Dear FutureMe,
I hope you are doing well. In this letter, I'm writing about how simple your life is as a sophomore. In the first three weeks of school, you were dying because you didn't want to dance so you tried to change it to jrotc, something that you were asking for since last year. I'm still not sure if you got it but I hope you did. Today you are sitting in your Computer Software Applications class, a class that you didn't ask for but in the end it may be useful. Next period, you have your first AP test (that you didn't study). These past weeks have been hard (maybe worse than last year), but in the end, you have to go and try to live with that until June next year.
I also hope you finally called your dad or your aunts. communication is a good way of showing care and love to other people, please be sure in the future to do so. I know very well how hard it was last year with making friends and creating a comfortable place where you feel you belong. I'm happy you found it and I hope you still feel comfortable there with people you certainly like and considere friends.
While you are writing this letter, you are thinking about your ap test, homeworks you have after class, charging your phone so you can play on the bus, thinking about your senior friend and crying about it thinking you will never be able to see each other after a long time. This time you are really appreciating the tiny little things, the short moments, everything related to any happy memorie you could create is something that you cannot do alone.
With this letter I intend to create a place where my past self could express herself, and her feelings in the moment. I thank Ms. Benn for creating this opportunity for me. Thank you for all the memories until now, the happy ones, sad ones, the disappointment, the laughs… I'm really grateful for all of that. Feelings that I would never have thought I'd be able to share or write are being written in this letter. Don't forget why you are here, be true to yourself and nobody else but yourself. Thanks again, im looking forward to the next memories we will create.
