A letter from Aug 29, 2022

Dear FutureMe, when you see this message, you will have graduated. 4 years. my first day of freshman year is tomorrow. i really hope you're not reading this right now regretting all the things you didn't do that i wanted you to. like start singing. find your friend group. be yourself. the only thing i really want to tell you is that i’m proud of you, even if you didn’t do every last thing i expected of you. i’m proud of you for making it this far, and i hope you know what you’re doing with your life, because i’m just as scared as you are. i hope u saved your money like we planned on doing. i hope you recovered from your eating disorder, because i can’t see the end. the things i’m worrying about now are probably irrelevant, like how much weight i’m losing and how broke i am and all the clothes i want to buy. i hope you’re grateful for your mom and your dad and your siblings and i want u to tell them that u love them right now. i wonder the ways your personality has changed, and if you’re really yourself. i hope we found peace with not fitting in. i hope when you imagine your 14 year old self writing this letter u laugh because i have no idea how much my life is going to change. i hope u tried new foods and met new people and did new things that made u uncomfortable and i hope u met someone that treats u amazingly and spoils u because its what u deserve. i hope we learned how to skateboard and ride a bike and drive a car. i hope we got a job that we love but i can’t really love it unless i’m a famous singer or youtuber or something and i hope you’re laughing right now because my expectations are so high but i know you have it in u to pull it off. i hope u made it far and i’m very proud of u wherever u ended up 4 years from now. but who knows? i could die in a fatal car crash or something ❤️ my last piece of advice is to not waste one second of your life doing something u don’t like. because is it really worth it??? but i don’t mean like stop doing your schoolwork WAIT U DONT HAVE ANY ANYMORE **** ugh i need to stop bye
